About this tool
Page numbers make long documents easier to review, print and discuss. Choose one of six positions, a starting number and a format such as “3”, “Page 3” or “Page 3 of 12”.
Numbers are added as real text, so they stay sharp at any zoom level and are positioned correctly even on rotated pages.
You can number only some pages — for example, skip a cover page by numbering pages 2 onwards and starting at 1.
Frequently asked questions
Are my files uploaded to PDFPUMA?
No. This tool runs entirely in your browser. Your files are read and processed on your device and the result is created there too — they are not sent to PDFPUMA's servers.
How do I skip the cover page?
Set “Pages to number” to 2- (page 2 to the end) and the starting number to 1.
Can I use password-protected PDFs?
Not with this tool yet. PDFPUMA doesn't bypass PDF passwords or permissions. If you own the file, remove the password in the app you used to protect it, then try again.
